Moving tips
We are happy to give you some tips if you are facing a move:
- Make sure all goods to be moved are packed when our moving van arrives.
- While packing you can select what you want to take with you. It is best to get rid of things that you no longer use or no longer need at all, because excess items also take up space and you pay the transport per cubic meter.
- Use boxes that are sturdy enough and use the same sizes as much as possible, which makes loading and unloading a lot easier and takes up less space. The latter is important as you have to pay per cubic meter that your goods take in the truck.
- We recommend filling boxes that are not completely full with bubble wrap. This is available on a roll in several do-it-yourself stores, of course you can also use linen that still needs to be moved. The goal is that the contents cannot shift or rattle during transport.
- Always put the heavier items at the bottom of the boxes and the lighter items on top, so that your household effects are stably divided per box.
- Make sure that boxes are not heavier than about 20 kg, it stacks more easily and you save yourself and the movers a lot of lugging.
- Close all boxes well and seal them with strong tape.
- It is best to wrap glassware, cups and plates separately in paper, ordinary newspaper is quite suitable for this.
- Disassemble the large furniture such as cupboards and beds yourself. These can often not be transported in one piece due to limited space and, if that is possible, they take up a lot of superfluous space.
- Liquids, flammable and highly flammable materials are best avoided when moving house, temperature and pressure differences can cause leakage or even explosions.
- If you nevertheless wish to move these materials with you, please notify our driver. He knows through his experience how the risks can be reduced.
- Make your mover aware of the presence of valuable paintings, art objects and mirrors.
- It is best to simply return valuable electronic devices to their original packaging if you still have them.
- If you no longer have these, you can wrap the devices in a blanket or sheet, then carefully fill the box with stuffing material.
- Remove the fuel from garden tools or other devices that are powered by a combustion engine, any batteries or batteries must be disconnected.
